Pipe Cleaner Christmas Wreaths

Celebrate the holidays with these beautifully simple pipe cleaner wreaths!

Looking for a low-prep, low-mess holiday craft for the kids to create?

Then you will love these sweet pipe cleaner wreaths.

They are super simple, but so much learning takes place in their creation. Kids develop hand-eye coordination as they manipulate the pipe cleaners and thread beads onto the wreath. Inquiry skills and independent learning is also taking place.

Here’s how we made these darling pipe cleaner wreaths.

Supplies:

  • 2 pipe cleaners
  • Pony beads
  • Yarn

Directions:

  1. Take two pipe cleaners and line them up side-by-side.
  2. Twist the ends of the pipe cleaners together.
  3. Continue to twist the pipe cleaners together. Thread pony beads onto the pipe cleaners as you go along.
  4. Once you have twisted the entire length of the pipe cleaners together, bring the two ends of the pipe cleaner together so it forms a circle.
  5. Twist the ends together to secure the wreath shape.
  6. Tie the piece of yarn onto your wreath. This yarn can be used to hang your mini wreath or can serve as a decorative element.
