Paper Bag Piñatas

Celebrate in style with this easy paper bag piñata craft for kids!

Besides being festive fun, this craft prepares little hands for the big task of writing through the small movements of gluing and cutting. It also builds awareness of different colors, sizes, and textures.

Here’s how you can make these paper bag piñatas for your next fiesta!

Supplies:

  • Paper lunch bag
  • Tissue paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Treats or trinkets
  • Stapler

Directions:

  1. Cut out strips of tissue paper that are about 2 inches tall and the width of a paper lunch bag.
  2. Use scissors to fringe your tissue paper. Do this by making parallel cuts along the bottom of the strips, leaving about half of the paper’s height uncut.
  3. Apply glue to the uncut portion of your fringe, and then attach the strip to your lunch bag.
  4. Continue attaching strips, covering the bag from top to bottom.
  5. Fill your piñata with treats, staple shut, and enjoy! You can hang up your piñata and break it open or you can just open up the bag at the staples.
