Flower Prints: An Easy Nature Craft

This flower print art project is an easy nature craft for kids!

This has been my son’s favorite art activity to do this summer.

He loves this nature craft every step of the way.

Gathering flowers. Arranging flowers. Smashing flowers with a hammer. Re-smashing flowers with a hammer. Smashing flowers with a hammer just one more time to make sure they printed onto the paper.

What’s not to love?

Here’s how we made these lovely flower prints.

Supplies:

  • Heavy paper (watercolor paper works best)
  • Gathered flowers
  • Wooden board
  • Parchment paper
  • Hammer

Directions:

  1. Set your sheet of heavy paper onto the wooden board.
  2. Arrange your gathered flowers onto the sheet of paper.
  3. Cover your arrangement with parchment paper.
  4. Use a hammer to hit the flowers, mashing them against the paper to create a flower print.
  5. When you are done hammering, carefully peel away the parchment paper and flowers.
