Easter Nature Tracker

Want to go on the best Easter hunt of all? Collect Mother Nature’s treasures with this sweet & simple nature tracker!

This Easter nature tracker is as quick, cheap, and easy as they come. All you need to prepare this lovely little nature activity for kids is cardboard, scissors, and some rubber bands.

This activity would be a great thing to do in place of an Easter basket hunt, as an additional activity at a family get-together, or as a way to celebrate the beauty of spring in the days before and after the holiday.

The egg-shape used for this forest-school activity would also make it the perfect project for a study on birds and their habitats.

Here’s how we made these Easter nature trackers.

Supplies:

  • Cardboard
  • Scissors (or utility knife)
  • Rubber bands

Directions:

  1. Use scissors or a utility knife to cut your cardboard into an egg shape.
  2. Cut slits, about 1″ apart, along the sides of your egg.
  3. Thread rubber bands through these slits. You are essentially creating a small loom to weave your nature findings through.
  4. Search for pieces of nature that catch your eye. Thread them through the rubber bands to secure them. Enjoy!
