Bring the beauty of nature indoors with this easy craft for kids!

These pressed flower trinket trays are a gorgeous way to bring the beauty of the outdoors inside.

Bonus – this nature craft is actually really simple!

All you need is air-dry clay, modge-podge, and dried flowers or leaves. After modeling the clay into a tray in a shape of your choice, you will seal flowers in place with a thin layer of glue.

Here’s how we made these sweet pressed flower trinket trays.

Supplies:

  • Air-dry clay
  • Modge-podge
  • Paintbrush
  • Dried flowers

Directions:

  1. Use your fingers to model your air-dry clay into a flat shape of your choice. Then use your fingers to carefully create a “lip” along the outer edge of this shape. This raised edge will help your tray contain your items safely.
  2. Allow the air-dry clay to dry and harden.
  3. When your creation has set, paint a thin layer of modge-podge over the entire clay object.
  4. Arrange your dried flowers on your tray.
  5. Cover your entire tray with another layer of modge-podge. Your tray will keep best if you allow this layer to dry, and then paint on an additional layer to seal the flowers in place.
