Capture the beauty of the great outdoors with this nature bracelet craft for kids!

Creating nature bracelets isn’t just a beautiful craft—it’s an educational one! Here are a few ways this sweet craft can benefit kids:

  • Encourages Outdoor Exploration: Kids will be motivated to spend time outdoors, observing and collecting items from nature
  • Enhances Creativity: Designing a bracelet with natural elements allows children to develop critical thinking skills and creativity
  • Promotes Fine Motor Skills: Picking small items and pressing them onto the bracelet helps develop fine motor coordination
  • Teaches About Nature: Kids can learn about different plants, flowers, and leaves, fostering an appreciation for the environment

Here’s how we did it.

Supplies:

  • Contact paper
  • Scissors
  • Clear Tape

Directions:

  1. Use your scissors to cut your contact paper into a strip approximately 2 inches wide and long enough to wrap around your child’s wrist with a little overlap.
  2. Peel off the backing so the sticky side is exposed.
  3. Use clear tape to adhere the bracelet in place, sticky-side facing outwards.
  4. Go on a nature walk or explore your backyard to find small, flat items like leaves, flower petals, grass blades, and tiny twigs. Encourage kids to pick a variety of shapes, colors, and textures to make their bracelet unique.
  5. As your child collects each item, press it gently onto the sticky side of the bracelet. Arrange the items in any pattern or design they like.
