DIY Fun: Using Bricks and Paint to Create Lego Prints

Fingerprint Oranges _ Stem Step _ Abbie Ulstad _ GGH

Develop your children’s problem-solving skills with these Lego prints for kids!

Creating prints using Lego bricks and paint is a fantastic way to spend quality time together while building up creative thinking skills!

These prints are easy, requires minimal setup, and the results are always unique and delightful. Just like with the three-dimensional bricks themselves, there is no limit to what you can create.

Here’s how we made these painted prints.

Supplies:

  • Lego bricks (in various shapes and sizes)
  • Washable paint in 3-4 colors
  • Paper plate or tray
  • Heavy drawing paper
  • Placemat (optional, but recommended)
  • Wet washcloth (optional, but recommended for messy fingers)

Directions:

  1. Pour small dollops of paint onto your paper plate or tray.
  2. Dip the Lego bricks into the paint. Then press them onto your paper to create a print.
  3. Repeat the steps of dipping and printing to build an image of your choice. Experiment with using different sides of the bricks to create a variety of textures.
  4. Dry and display!
