Recycle paper rolls with this Valentine’s art project for kids. These heart prints are as sweet as can be!

Love is in the air and it’s time for Valentine’s Day crafts!

This printmaking project for kids is simple, beautiful, and low-prep. It also recycles a paper roll into the most festive little art project.

Here’s how we made these paper roll heart prints.

Supplies:

  • Toilet paper or paper towel cardboard rolls
  • Washable paint
  • Plate or plastic lid
  • Paper to print onto
  • Cake pan or cookie sheet (optional, but helps contain mess)

Directions:

  1. Use your fingers to bend a paper roll into a heart shape.
  2. Squeeze washable paint onto a plate or a plastic lid.
  3. Dip your paper roll in the paint and then stamp it onto the paper.
  4. Print a variety of hearts onto your paper. Experiment with repetition and overlapping.
