Ground Hog Day Wreath – An Easy Craft for Kids

Every holiday celebration needs a wreath! This easy craft for kids is super simple and the perfect way to celebrate Ground Hog Day.

Will we have two more weeks of winter or an early spring? No matter whether or not the ground hog sees his shadow on February 2nd, you can celebrate the outcome with this easy craft for kids.

In our house, we will personally be making one of each and displaying the “winning” season during a Ground Hog Day lunch.

Here is a Ground Hog Day wreath (with free printables) you can make at home with your kids. Enjoy!

Supplies:

  • Wreath leaves (download spring and winter versions here)
  • Season banners (download spring and winter versions here)
  • Paper plate
  • Scissors
  • Watercolor paint, markers, or crayon
  • Stapler

Directions:

  1. Use your scissors to carefully cut out the center of the paper plate to create a base for your wreath.
  2. Print out the wreath leaves and season banners. Depending on the size of your paper plate, you may need to make a couple copies of the wreath leaves.
  3. Cut out your leaves and banner.
  4. Paint or color the leaves and banner for your wreath.
  5. Staple the leaves and banner in place. Hang and enjoy!
