They are compostable! They are gorgeous! They are dried flower bookmarks!

Looking for a simple craft that doubles as an amazing little gift? Check out these dried flower bookmarks!

This activity is super simple and earth friendly. All you need is wax paper, dried flowers, and an iron. A tassel is a completely optional element of this craft, and one that just requires yarn and a hole punch.

Here’s how we made these cute bookmarks.

Supplies:

  • Wax paper
  • Dried flowers
  • Clothing iron (or a hair straightener would work as well)
  • Towel (to protect surfaces, optional)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn (optional)
  • Hole punch (optional)

Directions:

  1. If desired, lay a towel down to protect your work surface. Then lay out a sheet of wax paper.
  2. Arrange your dried flowers and leaves on the wax paper. You will want to keep your arrangement fairly thin to ensure a good seal.
  3. Lay a second sheet of wax paper on top of your dried flower arrangement.
  4. Use an iron to seal the two pieces of wax paper together.
  5. Use scissors to cut your wax paper into bookmarks.
  6. If you want a tassel on your bookmark, punch a hole into the top of your bookmark. Then thread a piece of yarn through the hole and tie to secure.
