If you do art with kids, then you know that stains are bound to happen! Here is a recipe for a DIY laundry stain stick!
You know what comes with the territory of teaching art to young kids? Stains! But not to worry – I’ve got your back with this recipe for a DIY stain stick.
One of the best parts of this recipe? It is toxin-free and plant-based!
One of the key ingredients of this recipe is lemon essential oil. It is a natural degreaser and works well to remove residue. It also is a natural lightening agent.
Therefore, this stain stick is intended to be used with whites & light colored clothing! (which – let’s be real – are the ones that paint and marker always seem to find a way onto).
Here’s the recipe.
Ingredients:
- 30 mL roller bottle
- 15 mL Thieves household cleaner
- 1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide
- 10 drops lemon essential oil
- 10 mL Thieves dish soap
Directions:
- Fill your roller bottle with 15 mL of Thieves household cleaner concentrate. Don’t want to measure? Just fill up the roller half-way!
- Then add the hydrogen peroxide, lemon essential oil, and the Thieves dish soap to the roller bottle.
- Shake well & roll directly onto stains.
- Wash the clothing item as usual.
This stain stick is made with plant-based cleaners that are infused with essential oils. Clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary oils give this laundry DIY extra cleaning power. All while being safe to use around kids and pets!
