The perfect addition to a unit on bees and pollination, this nature craft is a one-day wonder and a great way to recycle cardboard!
This cardboard bee craft is going to be all the buzz.
Sometimes you just need a quick and easy nature craft.
One that is low-prep and low-cost.
This recycled art project would be the perfect addition to a unit on bees and pollination. We made them at our house as part of a learning block on bees and they have been the most darling decoration on our exploration table.
Here’s how we did it.
Supplies:
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pine cones
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
- White paint
Directions:
- Use scissors to carefully cut your cardboard into heart shapes. The size of your hearts is up to you, but I recommend making them about the height of the pine cones you have gathered for this project.
- Glue the pine cone onto the center of your cardboard heart, creating the body of the bee.
- Provide your child with white paint and a cotton swab or paintbrush. Encourage your young artist to decorate the bee’s wings with lines and dots.
