All Dressed Up: A Paper Craft for Kids

This paper craft for kids would be the perfect art project to celebrate Father’s Day or Career Day!

This paper craft for kids is not only low-prep, but looks as cute as can be hung up in a hallway!

Children will learn about patterns and repetition in this art project, all while developing their fine motor skills.

It would be the perfect activity to celebrate Father’s Day, but would also make an excellent craft for a unit on Careers or Community.

Here’s how we did it.

Supplies:

  • One sheet of 8.5″x11″ paper
  • Two sheets of 3″x4″ paper
  • Copy of the All-Dressed Up Templates (download for free here)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Colored pencils, markers, or crayons

Directions:

  1. Make a copy of the All-Dressed Up templates and use a scissor to cut out each of the templates.
  2. Use a scissor to create a 3″ cut in the center of your 8.5″x11″ piece of paper. This project works best when the paper goes the tall way.
  3. Fold back the cut portion to create the collar of your shirt.
  4. Glue the 3″x4″ pieces of paper underneath the sides of your paper to create sleeves. These papers will look more like sleeves if glued down at a bit of an angle.
  5. Use your markers, colored pencils, or crayons to add patterns to the shirt and tie. A pattern is when something (line, shape, color, etc.) appears in a regular and repeated way.
  6. Glue the name tag, pocket, and tie onto your shirt.
  7. Display and enjoy!
